Commissions
The Process
-
Tell me what you have in mind for your custom painting. Include the subject, size, and colours you’re drawn to. Reference photos or inspiration are always helpful, but not required.
-
I’ll put together a sketch, a digital colour mock-up, and a quote (including shipping and timeline) for you to review. We can go back and forth here. I’m happy to adjust the composition and colours until it feels just right.
Once everything is approved, I’ll ask for a signed commission agreement and a non-refundable 25% deposit to get started. -
From there, I’ll begin painting. Depending on the size and complexity, this usually takes a few weeks to a couple of months. I’ll send updates and progress photos along the way so you can see it come together, and I’ll let you know if anything affects the timeline.
-
When the painting is finished, you’re welcome to request minor tweaks, or small adjustments that don’t change the overall composition or colour palette.
If it’s not quite what you were hoping for, I’ll keep the painting and the 25% deposit, and there’s no further obligation on your end.
-
If you’re happy with the final piece, the remaining 75% is due before delivery, as outlined in the agreement. Once payment is received, I’ll carefully package your painting and send it on its way to its new home.

How it comes together
The sketch
Every painting starts with a simple sketch to figure out the composition and overall flow.
The color palette
Once the composition is set, I build out a digital colour study. Using loose blocks of colour, I focus on capturing the overall mood and feeling.
The final painting
This is where it all comes together. I refine the details and develop the colours, staying true to the original palette while allowing for a bit of creative flexibility as the painting evolves.
